Three Levels. In That Exact Order.

Work Hard in Your Job, Work Harder on Yourself, But Work Hardest on Your Health

Work Hard in Your Job, Work Harder on Yourself, But Work Hardest on Your Health — Rise & Reset Co.

There's a line I keep coming back to:

"Work hard in your job. But work harder on yourself. And work hardest on your health."

Three levels. In that exact order. And it took me years — and a few regrets — to understand why the order matters so much.

Let me walk you through it, from where I stand today as an OFW here in Dubai.

Level 1 — Work hard in your job

This is where most of us start, and it's honorable. I work hard at my job here in the Gulf, the way millions of OFWs do — showing up, giving my best, providing for my family back home.

But here's what I've learned: a job is a foundation, not a ceiling. It pays today's bills. It is not, by itself, your future. If your job is the only thing you're building, you're standing on one leg — and one leg is easy to knock over.

So yes, work hard at your job. But don't stop there.

Level 2 — Work harder on yourself

This is the level that changed my life.

Outside of my job, I started building myself. Through the IMG community, I began learning what school and work never taught me — real financial literacy, how money actually works, how to build income beyond a single paycheck, and how to help others do the same. A side hustle, yes, but more than that: an education in becoming more.

And I didn't stop there. Lately I've been upscaling my skills in AI Building — and I want to be clear about the difference. I don't just want to use AI. I want to be empowered by AI, not powered by it.

Powered by AI means you depend on it — it does the thinking, you just press the button. Empowered by AI means you are still the builder, the creator, the mind behind the work — and AI simply multiplies what you bring. That's the difference between being replaced by the future and being ready for it. And it's opening real doors for me to create income in ways I couldn't have imagined before.

Working on yourself never stops. New skills. New knowledge. New income streams. You become the kind of person opportunity looks for.

Level 3 — Work HARDEST on your health

And now the level I neglected the longest — the one I regret.

In my ebook, The Ikigai Journey, I wrote about finding your reason for being: the meeting point of what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. But here's the piece I learned the hard way: none of it works without your health.

You can climb the career ladder. You can build side incomes. You can master every new skill. But if your body breaks down, all of it stops. What's the point of a strong income and a sharp mind if the body carrying them is running on empty?

I chased the job. I chased growth. And for too long, I put my health last — telling myself I'd get to it "later." That's the regret. Because health doesn't wait for a convenient time.

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

— 3 John 1:2

Notice it: health and prosperity, together. Not one at the cost of the other. God's design was never for you to gain the world and lose your body doing it.

The right order, before it's too late

So build all three — but respect the order.

Work hard at your job; it provides. Work harder on yourself; it multiplies. But work hardest on your health — because it carries everything else. Your health is the one asset that, once lost, makes every other asset useless.

Don't learn this the way I almost did. Move your body. Rest well. Eat wisely. Guard your peace. Take care of the one vessel that has to carry you through this entire journey.

A strong job builds your present. A strong self builds your future. But strong health is what lets you live long enough to enjoy both.

If you're grinding hard for a better life — like every OFW out there — share this with someone who needs the reminder. Build your income, yes. But don't forget to build the body that has to carry it all.
